For an important Mining Company

We are looking for a

Principal Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Engineer

Main Functions

  • Perform independent site electrical integrity surveys/reviews to determine condition and possible safety and or business/production risks and support sites in closing gaps from integrity surveys to reduce risks.
  • Develop methodology / standards and implement Electrical Infrastructure Master Plans at sites.
  • Is the custodian of Lock Out and Safeguarding Standard.
  • Strive for technical excellence through the development of standards, specifications and leading practices. Becomes the custodian for Electrical, Control and Instrumentation standards and specifications through the establishment of a repository for standards, leading practices and specifications.

Formal qualifications:

  • Graduated electrical engineer (6 years).
  • Desirable: A proven track record of extensive practical experience in a role and context of similar complexity
  • Desirable: Master of Science / Philosophy Doctor.
  • A qualification in Project Management / MBA would be advantageous.
  • Full English proficiency required

Role-specific desired knowledge:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of operational complexities experienced as an engineer in a mining operation.
  • Demonstrated maintenance and operational support experience within hard rock underground and/or open pit based organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience in high voltage systems (110 kV - 500 kV).
  • Demonstrable balance between theoretical electrical engineering and practical electrical system maintenance, operations and management.
  • Demonstrable experience in Electrical and C&I discipline project management
